Both sets of grandparents were Orthodox Jews. As a result, I was brought up as what my mother called a “non-practicing Jew”. I think that I missed a lot.
@Susan Newman: Halloween is a corruption of Hallows Eve, or the eve before All Saint’s Day. It is a Christian concept. Personally, I just consider it a chance for families to have fun and merchants to get money. I am glad you got to get in on some of the fun.
