I am reminded of a very early Peanuts strip with approximately the same gag. Linus shows up with a sheet like this and Lucy explains, “He isn’t very good with a scissors yet.”

Being Jewish, I can understand Sabra’s (Stick’s) annoyance at the “Holey Ghost” gag.

Well she was running out of time for something original and this works. Now if mom doesn’t holler at her for cutting up a good sheet she’ll be ok, but sheets these days are very expensive!
