but it’s certainly bent in an odd direction, which usually does indicate some sort of damage.

And it’s quite painful…. but to us, not to Claude.

I had actually thought you never painted in that style….

but there I was, seemingly presented with evidence to the contrary.

It didn’t occur to me to question its provenance.

So I would like to say mea culpa….

but I can’t…
