since Popes generally rule under a different name than their given names (i was going to say Christian names but that would have been pushing the envelope) he would not likely have been Pope Oscar. may I suggest Pope Impious the First?
I find it so strange that the RC Church finds it necessary to try to piggyback onto Oscar’s reputation. “He was ours! Really!” Grabbing for relevance by attaching to a 19th century Irishman they spat on until his conversion and ignored for decades afterward. So glad I left “the Mother Church”.
