    Sam Adams was a bit of a pain in the rear, and his actions were not always in the best interests of the revolution. The Tea Party attack gave justification to the British for much of their harsh crackdowns.

    Adams was a lousy brewer, as well. He inherited the brewery and drove it into bankrupcy. Several of his other attempts at going into business also failed.
