It’s a MOAP, a “Massive Ordnance Air Pickle”, also known as “the mother of all pickles”.

It’s very early in the morning, which may excuse the fact that it took me a minute to realize that was a flying pickle and not … well, yes, apparently I have a dirty mind.

Appropriately for the forces commanded by Queen Victoria, it looks like the MOAP was delivered by a WWII British Lancaster bomber. http://tinyurl.com/AvroLancaster

It’s pledge week here at New Adventures of Queen Victoria. No one can offer a mug or a tote bag, but Pab has given us a LOT of great laughs. Please help him keep going. The button is hard to find. Sometimes it disappears. Just run your mouse at the top and the outline, at least, of the buttom will show up. It does not need to be visible to work. And Mivins – I think it was on the left.

CoBbleeep, thanks for keeping me from making an bleeep of myself. You’re right, it does look like a Lanc. I was going to complain that the Little Boy was dropped by a B-29, not a B-24 (which I thought it was), but having the Lanc do it is way funnier.

It could be a Halifax, though…

I thought a little about it being a Halifax, but I didn’t think the engine nacelles looked right. IMHO, they’re too long and too skinny for a Halifax. To be honest, though, the image size and angle make it hard to tell. My money is on Lancaster, but it wouldn’t shock me to be find out it’s a Halifax.

(Just a quick test to see if the GoComics nannybot is bleeping my screen name, as it appears to have done in ironflange’s post. The next word should be my screen name: CoBass)
