Hello Villagers I got my Pacemaker yesterday. Everything went exactly as they said it would. I spent the night in the hospital following the surgery. I will supply more details later..Here is a pic of the device they implanted in me:It is about 2 inches long and .3 in thick.

It’s a long story. First I was having trouble swallowing due to a constricted esophagus, so my GI doctor wanted to dilate the esophagus, but first he wanted my cardiologist to give his blessing to the procedure. The cardiologist had me do an EKG which showed a slow and irregular heartbeat which calls for the Pacemaker. Meantime, I still have the swallowing problem. Got all that?

I wore a heart monitor for 24 hours which showed my heart rate actually dipped into the 30’s on a few occasions.

Thanks for your concern and some good advice.You should move at least some of your act to the Village. Everybody likes everybody and no trolls.

I hope you are not dwelling on that. I just called it as I saw it – at the time. As far as I’m concerned it’s ancient history – no malice intended :-)

I happened to feel uncomfortable with the comments in the previous Village which is why I hardly comment here anymore. Well if I’m honest, I wasn’t commenting in the Village way before all that happened but my point is with everybody talking about me behind my back (not mentioning any names) It made me feel betrayed.

@VillagersThis Village has been very quiet lately. It makes me wonder if it is here to stay.@SteveYour remark about our meeting in Glasgow prompted me to surf back to earlier Villages to look at some of the pics of us in our cloth caps. Some of those I don’t have saved elsewhere. I found those Villages are missing. Earlier ones are still there. WTF?

I would miss the village, yes it is a pity it seems to be neglected, but if no one has anything to say…… that’s it.

Picking up where I left off on my great Panamanian adventure: We lived in Diablo Heights for a few months then moved to a larger apartment in Balboa where I enrolled in school for the eighth grade. I got myself an after-school job setting pins in the Officer’s Club bowling alley. It paid 3 cents a line and the pins were all set up manually. No machinery in those days. I really enjoyed my year in the CZ. Perfect weather. Year round Springtime. No winter. -In the Summer of 1941 it was decided that my mother and I would head back to Texas. Europe was at war and it looked like the U.S. may get involved. Pearl Harbor was yet to happen.-We headed back to Colon where we boarded the SS Ulua, another banana boat, for our trip back. It was almost identical to the trip there, except we stopped in Costa Rica instead of Honduras.-More later…

Continuing my Panama rant: By the time my dad was to return to Texas (about 1942) we were at war and Nazi U-Boats were sinking ships in the Gulf of Mexico.- http://www.cnn.com/2014/07/16/us/gulf-of-mexico-shipwrecks-world-war-ii/-He had booked passage on a ship that was sunk but wisely chose to fly back. The Pan-American highway was incomplete at that time so he could not drive back. He sold the LaSalle and booked a flight to Mexico City. Airline service was very spotty in those days, so he booked a separate flight to Monterey and then a bus to Nuevo Laredo where he crossed the Rio Grande to Laredo, TX. He bought a 1938 Chevrolet which he drove back to join us in San Antonio.-By this time my older brother, who did not go to Panama, had joined the Marines and was stationed aboard ship in the Pacific.

Now May 22 – Never seen the Village this quiet this long.Last post about 1 month ago.
