From yesterday’s story and those who were concerned, it was a long time ago when the drinking age was 18 so getting into a bar at 16 wasn’t a big deal. We all went out as a group and we knew the couple places that would wave us in without carding us at the door. We always stayed together in our group with both guys and girls and we always left together as a group.
Calvin’s logic pretty much goes along with my son’s at that age. If he broke something I’d find it rolled up in his clothes in the bottom of his closet. If he spilled something I’d find the furniture moved on top of it.
My granddaughter at 3 if I notice something moved or hidden she’ll say, “Don’t look!” and pushes me away. I then have to play, “Well do we need a papertowel, dustpan, glue, or the vacuum?” After that she’ll tell me to go in another room and not look while she busily cleans things up.
Good morning to all! Have a great week!
How many of us have these same battles with our consciences? How many of us listen? I hope mom set the parking brake!
Dino your welcome. Come on now Calvin your’ not strong enough for one to push the car and two the garage will get too hot. Best to find a tree and build your own club house.
Lewreader, blaming the little brother doesn’t always work. My sister smashed the car into the garage when she was babysitting and blamed my little brother. Of course if he wasn’t 2 at the time it might have worked?
As a mom I can honestly say there are some things I would rather not know, well maybe.
Calvin, Mom keeps finding out about “these things” because you’re not good enough at covering them up! It’s tough being an only child, huh? There’s no one else to blame all the bad things on!!!!!
Visiting with my dad before he passed on 30 years ago, I was amazed at the things he knew we did that my brother and I though we had kept totally secret and had gotten away with. Those conversations are some of my most pleasant and funny memories. Little did we know he was watching over us and letting us learn by experience after he had told us not to do a particular thing. Of course, he made sure we didn’t hurt ourselves too bad! LOL
@bmonk: And quite likely, parents had Calvins long before now as well…

I wonder how they’ll get their actual, eventual clubhouse in the tree. I’ve quite forgotten.

You need to put it in neutral, jump out, push it into the drive, and watch it roll into traffic.

Heck, we always just took the keys and parked it in the driveway……after going around the block of course.

BREWWITCH You stole my line. Then again it’s easiest not to get caught. Poor Calvin need a little brother to blame things on.

sounds like GW Bush’s staff, “don’t tell him anything that might make him upset or confuse him.” That was the SOP for that WH.
Now we have a President, that was elected with the right hating and lying about him, and he’s wasting our time trying to get them to play nice.
I think the comics are the way to go.

Grace Hopper
I agree–only I suspect religious and monks were using that line long before someone caught Grace Hopper using it.
Probably something like: “Est facillimus sciscitor misericordiam quam permissionem.”
