I have to give it to Wesley. Cheese is one of the few things in the world that brings out a high-pitched shriek from me! Sing it with me….CHEESE, Glorious CHEESE! An oldie, but a goodie!
Doesn’t Wesley seem wayyyy more excited about cheeeese than he is about Sophie? that can’t be good … or maybe that can’t be gouda, for those of us who like pungent cheese puns?
I love that these new creatures are double-plus-ultra exemplars of ferretude. Georgia again zeroes in on unique characteristics of the critters she deploys to make them both credible and incredible.
Just a thank you to all who offered condolences yesterday on the loss of my daughter’s dog. She took him to a place last night that will do the cremation.
Hu, oh, I do fear that this is a one-sided infatuation.
Now, onto the cheese.
Manchego, Shropshire Blue, and Stilton are several of my favorites (I like strong blue cheeses). They are wonderful accompaniments to a cocktail or after-dinner Port.
From the next life, Jasper and my ’80s budgie Nigel are enthusiastically agreeing with all the CHEESE celebrations. Cheese tax was often required anytime one opened a refrigerator.
I had a block of cream cheese that was about to go over the rainbow, so I divided it and added dried cherries and vanilla extract to one half and chopped olives o the other half. The cherry spread is great on almond crackers, and the olive pimento is great on celery or saltines.
Well, no accumulation except on the mountaintops, but today we have had snow and hail (or frozen balls of snow, about half the size of baby peas) and windy cold. Of course this was the day I had to take Inky to the vet to investigate his weight loss despite eating his food, Tucker’s and Ozzy’s food, stealing food from my plate, and eating (clean) kitty litter scattered on the floor. Turns out he is hyperthyroid, not unusual for a 15-year-old kitty, and will have to take pills. So far, so good, I was able to break the pill in half and roll the halves up in cheese, which he ate right up! ♡ Hope he doesn’t catch on to the trick!
If you like both cheese and cozy mysteries, I can recommend the Cheese Shop mysteries by Korina Moss. Most of the titles are cheese puns such as Cheddar off Dead, Gone for Gouda, Curds of Prey.

What’s not to love about cheese?
Ages ago, when the government gave out free cheese, many places had ersatz Velveeta. In MKE, we had sharp cheddar and blocks of real butter.

Cher: Gypsies, Tramps, and Thieves
I was born in a shelter in a Rhode Island town
My family used to nap and run and hang upside down
We’d always eat whatever we could
Then I found a slice of cheddar
It was so very good!
…….
Ferret food and cheese!
We’d eat it every day as we ran around all over
Ferret food and cheese!
And every night the volunteers would come around
And put the kibble down!
…….
Found a sandwich that a volunteer brought
On a paper plate, and I wouldn’t be caught
Ham on rye with a slice of Swiss
Ran as fast as lightning
And I was sure that it wouldn’t be missed!
…….
Ferret food and cheese!
We’d eat it every day as we ran around all over
Ferret food and cheese!
And every night the volunteers would come around
And put the kibble down!
…….
Never had no Gouda but I had Provolone
From a Philadelphia hoagie
Three months later I am being fostered
And I’ll steal a grilled cheese in a while
I’ll steal a grilled cheese in a while!
…….
I love Velveeta, I just have to confess
Is it my fault if I’m leaving a mess?
Gouda and Cheddar, and Stilton, so good!
It may not seem healthy!
But I need much more than just ferret food!
…….
Ferret food and cheese!
We’d eat it every day as we ran around all over
Ferret food and cheese!
And every night the volunteers would come around
And put the kibble down!

Arachna Spider: I would like to add a spider silk ladder to make this an interactive tapestry.
Maat-Tilda: I think we should make sure the material is strong enough.
Adobe Style: Why don’t we have Dooky and his team try it out?
Sophititi: And Bea and Ora Z could help out as well.
Sometime Later
Iggy: Beatrixia and Ora Z said you needed help with testing out some new fabric.
Tillie: Yes. Can you test out Ari’s spider silk ladder?
Iggy: Sure thing. It’s like climbing the rigging on a ship. (Climbs rigging).
Iggy: Ahoy, Mates! I see a litter room to starboard!
Adobe: Isn’t Ahoy a bit ahead of its time?
Soph: That’s those space time flowers for you.
