Can’t come up with the $464 mil, eh? No wonder you can’t find a financial institution willing to front it for you. By now they’re all too well aware that (a) you’re guilty as sin and (b) you’ve got a long track record of stiffing your creditors. Dare we hope that this will lead to some actual time behind bars for America’s Foremost Felon?
Trump MAGA cult worshippers are so illiterate (technically innumerate) about how tariffs work, that they don’t realize is that Trump is threatening to double the price of many of the most popular cars purchased by Americans.
Economically illiterate (technically innumerate) are so uninformed, that they think tariffs on cars produced in Mexico (or Japan, or Germany, or South Korea) are paid by the governments of Mexico (or Japan, or Germany, or South Korea).
Actually, they are paid for by the people who would have bought those cars, but didn’t. And yes, that would be an economic bloodbath brought to you courtesy of Donald Trump.
In the meantime, Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Mazda, and many other foreign-owned auto manufacturers who have manufacturing plants in the United States would be able to sell their American-made cars with no tariffs.
And the Trump MAGA cult worshippers understand none of this.
At work the other night, a woman told me she did not like T or B, but she was gonna vote for T for the sake of her grandchildren because he’s gonna fix the schools. I just walked away, shaking my head.
It simply isn’t true that Trump was only referring to the auto industry. That was his starting point but that isn’t his final word on the subject. He did imply that his supporters would riot.
Trump began inciting the insurrection as soon he knew that he had a good chance of losing reelection, claiming fraud even before the election actually was held.. Once he did lose, supporters filed 60 something court cases protesting the outcome, none of which he won, most of which were thrown out for lack of evidence. As soon as the election was called for Biden, he started sending out continuous tweets calling for his supporters to gather in D.C. on January 6, ready to fight- or “they would not have a country’. THEY ACTUALLY BELIEVED THEY WERE FIGHTING FOR THEIR COUNTRY. I can’t fault those who believed then, they were duped, but anyone who still is duped is either as insane as Trump or as evil.
You can not say Trump did not attempt an insurrection. He gave it his best shot, and still didn’t get enough supporters to show up to get the job done. His best shot, as usual in everything he has done in his life, was inadequate. Now, 2000 of those who believed him have been indicted and 400 are in jail. They won’t be there for any “bloodbaths” he has planned.
He has sponsored Jan 6th anniversary events that were poorly attended. He was found guilty of fraud and sexual assault, but no one demonstrated. It seems unlikely to me that those who claim to believe Trump’s version of history and actually believe that he is being persecuted are willing to show up and do any damage to anything. This is no way negates the possibility of a lone MAGAt doing considerable damage, including bombing, shooting family members etc.
But as far as a “bloodbath” I just don’t believe there are that many hopelessly stupid Republicans.
Traitor Trump used to be “only” a malignant narcissist (and career financial criminal and rapist), but now he is a megalomaniac who will take the country down him. Remind you of anybody else?
Off topic, but maybe we need a little upper to offset all the negativity that’s going around these days, so here’s a little treat for you: “Wunderbar”, from the 1948 Cole Porter musical Kiss Me, Kate: youtu.Be/nqiXIwrujCc

Trump wants to lower gas prices by making cars unaffordable so the price will go down for the rich since only they will be able afford cars.

Tells you what you want/like to hear to make the sale. He could not care less if the car is a bust. It’s now yours. He got what he wanted.

My concern is that if he loses, his excessively armed cult will do what he tells them he wants.
And if he wins, his excessively armed cult will do what he tells them he wants.

I remember what his “it is easy to win a tariff war” program did to farmers and manufacturing and some are still recovering from it.
