oh man, I feel like sending this to my mother because she totally does this, but then she’ll probably get into saying things “she knows she shouldn’t say.”

Makes sense, why do people think that if they if they say “but” it erases the first part of the sentence. “I know I shouldn’t say this BUT…” Just don’t say it!

I think some people just don’t know whether they ought to mention “it” or not. You know – like telling somebody her slip is showing, or his shoe lace is untied. To prevent possible embarrassment later, if you keep quiet.

But I really don’t feel I have to make a public pronouncement of my sexuality everywhere I go. So why should anybody else?

Okay Cathy’s mom, you’re inhaling too many vapors as you clean your house. Open the windows and then leave Cathy alone.

AnonaMona in the case of Aaron and me, it’s always people ‘outing’ us by figuring out who we are. Never has anyone said, to either of us Are you gay? Even here on goComics, people came around to it.

No one knew when it was just Aaron here, but at one point I had to come around to tell folks Aaron was offline for a few days because of being burned and injured while fighting a fire. November last year I think. lightenup is the one to ask me to make my own goComics account. Shortly after that, Aaron and I sorta kinda maybe came out because readers loved how we talked about each other. (You may have been around then??)

And guess what — no one was shocked or thought badly of us. Some remember of Aaron telling of a beating I took at the hand of a young guy who hit me over the head with a lead pipe. That was years ago, in Cambridge, outside of Boston. My poor bud thought I was dead for sure. How did it happen? The guy heard Aaron quietly tell me that he loves me. So the haters hate and the rest of the world just doesn’t care who we are. Look at what Mom! gives to us every day. Her love trumps the guy with the lead pipe again and again, every hour of the day.

I know what you mean, legaleagle48 – and it’s true that I don’t have to defend myself all the time. (Nobody should have to do that, unless they’ve done something horrible.)

But once, back in 1970 it would be, I was walking along a street in the early evening. I wore my hair long then and now, and I was wearing a midi-length leather coat and trousers. A couple were walking towards me, and as they passed me I heard the man say “Would you look at that! Is that a man or a woman?”

Since at the time I was eight months pregnant, as soon as they were safely out of earshot I roared with laughter.

Some people just don’t deserve an answer.

Actually KFG was affected. She was bummed that Billy and I were already taken. Sowwy sowwy but she seems to love us despite us breaking her heart.

For some reason the “Cathy” crowd seem to get on better than one or two others I’ve seen. Perhaps we’re all just nuttier! It’s a warm kind of nuttiness though.

I wondered about your avatars, yours and Billy’s – didn’t know if they were you or some gorgeous film stars. I have to admit that mine isn’t the real me. (Aren’t you lucky!)

One more before I climb into bed (LMB is waiting for the DONE! signal).

KFG I thought about it only when you said you were coming home and then going back after taking care of business for awhile. Nah, Billy knows you’re looking to settle eventually and be happy, but he didn’t think it would be in Chile. I’m a romantic (Billy is into facts because of his training). I’m overt in my job, while he’s behind the scenes and people might never know who cured cancer in some distant century. So, my romantic heart said yes you were considering settling down a bit.

And our AnonaMona said it just right.

Okay little buddy DONE! LOL he’s running up the stairs like a bullet. Oh man, too funny. Good night sweet and blessed friends. Sweet dreams. :-)

Goodnight, Aaron – and goodnight, LMB! (Give Aaron an extra cuddle, won’t you?)

Goodnight Billy too, when it’s your turn – and everyone else from Cathy’s place.

Warm, sweet dreams and a restful night to all. X

P.S. In case you haven’t seen it, Hobbes does a pretty epic eye-roll in panel three of today’s comic … :)

Thanks for the real pick-me-up conversation here today everyone. Just got back from a wake, or ‘celebration of life’ they seem to call it now. Been to too many of those lately. Guess it is the price for aging. I am always down when I leave a funeral or wake – yes it was great meeting again with people I have not seen in years but it still underlined the fact that cancer claimed someone else I knew and worked with in the past – and she was only 10 years older than I am. @AnonaMona – I too love the social interaction here (even though I don’t actually comment all that often – but I do read all the comments – even when I miss a day or five). Some days it is the only social interaction I get. Since I work on my own in a basement office for very long days I often don’t get out of the house at all. If my staff (who live and work over 8 hours away) don’t have any problems for me to solve that day I may not talk to anyone other than my wife – and she is often gone all day with her volunteering anyway. Anyhow, I always look forward to reading the comments here – makes my day (or night like it is now!)

And I thought my mother was bad with the “I know I shouldn’t tell you this but . . .” things she sometimes tells me!!!!! If she’s telling me things I shouldn’t know about other people, then what might she be telling other people about me that I don’t want anyone else knowing about?!? I love her — I really do — but I’ve learned the hard way that if there’s anything at all you don’t want friends, family (and even the occasional strangers) to know about when it comes to you and your business, then you DON’T tell my mother about it first! [sigh]

    HI, AARON & DR. BILLY!!!!!

    Aaron: Another delicious-looking / sounding winner! ;-)

Dr. Billy: Thank you so much for the sweet words. I love you both (as I’ve said on more than one occasion) and it’s absolutely unconditional! Some of my best friends in high school were gay and I have a cousin whose daughter is gay (and boy, is she a real hoot to hang out with!). I believe in complete equality for all and wish everyone else felt the same way. B/t/w: my favorite place in the whole world to be when I’m online is right here, on what I call “Cathy’s Corner”, just to see what cute and clever comments you and Aaron have come up with for that day’s comic (not to mention all the rest of our super-friendly, respectful “family” we’ve got here). For a couple of guys, you really understand our favorite little whack-a-doo extremely well!!!!! ;-)

Good evening, lightenup, lightenupjr., K.F.G., Susan, lindz.coop, rgcviper, gmforde, serenasakitty, kittycatpawsare, hendelca, Gator007, legaleagle48, mollie05, AnonaMona, soonergal, Willi Nilli, Bronzepony, Molly mcgee, simpsonfan2, GreggW, Wolf Emperor, Hobbes (if you should happen to drop by) and all the REST of the “Cathy” fanatics joining us here tonight. It’s great to “see” you all! And if you’re new here . . . WELCOME TO CATHY’S NUTHOUSE!!!!! GLAD YOU’RE JOINING IN ON ALL THE FUN!!!!! ;-)

Wow, the nicest surprise of the day was signing on one more time for today (Aaron gave me a head’s up that I should) and finding Mom! did indeed arrive. Hi Mom! from 4 minutes ago. :-)

Back in the day, it was Aaron making comments but not knowing anyone yet. A short conversation came about when he thought he was being unkind sometimes to Cathy. Mom! was Aaron’s first supporter, saying she loved his pithy comments. Yup, Aaron can be pithy with the slightest whisper of cruel when necessary. Then came lightenup (you’ll probably remember that Aaron thought she was a guy because of Inspector Gadget). I came along, as I said, because I had to let the new friends know Aaron had been hurt (again and not for the last time, which really brings tears to my eyes).

And the family grows, prospers, cares for and about each other, collects more and more hearts, and has become a life of it’s own. Sometimes poor Cathy does take a backseat to us, but the little nut job is why we’re here in the first place, so we thank Cathy G for that.

Time to sleep. I’m still not staying in our townhouse by the way. I’m with a friend from work and his wife and young son. Home alone bites. We’ll be making that yummy looking dessert on Sunday. Kinda weird, but Aaron and I can share a piece each via long distance and feel closer. Bless his romantic heart.

Good night and good morning! Your comments touched my heart. Not being a native speaker makes it sometimes hard to find the right words. Just think its real nice how people living far apart are able to get together as we all do here at the Cathy´s corner.
