YES YES, one of the best arcs in the entire comic (which given which strip we’re talking about is saying something) begins. It’s why i’m glad I moved this up on my daily reading list. Even if you’ve read calvin and hobbes a hundred times it always feels good to revisit.

Ah, the late 60s and early 70s.Rarely did a week go by without a bomb treat at our high school.

If this were original today, the FBI would descend on Calvin’s parents in force. In fact, Watterson may be in the news tomorrow morning. Times have changed.

Meh, probably just Hobbes in there. Susie is too interested in knowing though. And she insists that she doesn’t like him.

This is not as funny as when it was first published. It could be anything up to ricin.

First of all, just saying that nowadays would probably get one of them suspended and counselled.

Second, this is a really fun arc.

Ooooh, this is a fun story arc! As a kid, I thought Susie’s line in the last panel was amusing, but nowadays if another teacher or the principal overheard her, she’d probably be dragged to the office!

Calvin is a grown up six year old. We love him as he is.

Only Calvin could have a friend like Hobbes. They fight like cat and dog but always emerge best friends.
