Timing never fails. 50’s Friday night high school football. Suited up – shoulder and hip pads, helmet jersey, tight knee pants, knee socks, cleats, coach saying ’let’s get out there and show these guys some football,’ and . . . drat, gotta use the toilet.
Once my b-i-l when dressed and leaving for work in an office decided to pass gas on the way out the door. Passed more than he had bargained for! (Was late for work.)
Alan Shepard had to take a wizz in his suit just prior to his first flight because NASA didn’t think to have a relief tube installed. They still didn’t have one built into the suit when Gus Grissom went up, so they gave him a condom. (Ref. “The Right Stuff”)
I remember how “The Fairly OddParents” joked about that quite a few times in the episode where Timmy’s dad becomes an astronaut and is about to go on a long space mission to Uranus (another “dirty” joke they couldn’t resist throwing in).

To learn how to be an astronaut, (or anything else for that matter) Calvin, you have to actually learn things.

This idea could have been expanded into a Spaceman Spiff story arc if Calvin hadn’t spoken his thoughts to Mom.

Getting 3 little kids dresed for a Canadian winter, my mum often had to unwrap someone quickly. Even though she warned us ahead.

That’s one thing from the space program you wish carried over to everyday life. There are times that could be helpful.
