Seems to me that the entire comic could be done over with LBJ and the Vietnam war. When calling out someone’s sins it would be better if you hadn’t committed the same ones yourself. Yet more proof that there is little difference between the two major political parties. They are certainly both full of hypocrites such as Backderf.
As far as who’s fault it is. It’s our fault for expecting the people we elect to solve all of our problems when we should be the ones to solve them. We all are to blame for the stupid wars we’ve gotten into since WWII. We let them happen. In a similar vein, if you are concerned about the poor then team up with those who feel the same and go help the poor. You get no moral credit for doing good with other people’s money.
