In politics there are supposedly two parties but they both have only one ideal. As Thomas Sowell said;
“No one will really understand politics until they understand that politicians are not trying to solve our problems. They are trying to solve their own problems – of which getting elected and re-elected are number one and number two. Whatever is number three is far behind.”
The republicans will hate what the democrats do and the democrats will hate what the republicans do, even if it the same thing. Politics is charades.
If Congress were working for the people, a President would not need Executive orders. Instead Congress has done nothing to improve their workings, and their approval ratings are currently at 15%….they’ve consciously ceded their power and their Constitutional checks and balances to the Presidency and the Judiciary.
At least Biden hasn’t signed a bunch of BLANK PIECES OF PAPER for his flunkies and minions to FILL IN WHATEVER THEY WANT LATER like Agolf Twitler did… WITH PHOTOGRAPHIC PROOF!!
An odd system.. American government. The president is not elected by the majority and the House and Senate spend all their time squabbling for points. Little wonder America is no longer that shiny city on the hill.
Let me see if I got this straight. “W” left Obama with two unfinished wars he started and a cratered economy. Obama was able to stem the bleeding and build back our economy with the Republicans dragging their feet all along. Their biggest complaint was that Obama tried to get health care for poor people. Trump ran the country like one of his businesses and ended up with a raging pandemic and a cratered economy. Now Biden is left to pick up the pieces.
Wouldn’t it be grand if they could all just stop and think for a few minutes about how their decisions affect REAL people before they thought of the value of their decisions on their party and the possibility of re-election? Utopian, I know, but it’s only a thought.
HOPEFULLY the fourth and final panel may be a vision of what’s to come for decades after the last four years and especially the last 30 days. Choices have consequences. Some take courage.

Incredibly LAZY!

With an increasingly constipated Congress – Executive Orders are the only way to get things done. Anything!

FDR is the current record holder. No President since has even come close. Do all political cartoonists know no history? Or do they just not care?

Partisanship is destroying our country. That was not the plan of the Founding Fathers.

If congress would actually legislate like they’re supposed to do, presidents wouldn’t have to use executive orders to get things done.

Except that Dems Executive orders are often just a negation of the Republican orders.
Bush executive orders…. Torture and Illegal wiretaps
Obama’s orders End Torture dial back wire taps…
Trumps orders Torture ( water board their families) and Muslim ban, Flunkies on advisory boards End the use of science on policy
Biden’s orders No Torture end Muslim ban Remove Flunkies on advisory boards Bring back science for policy discussions
