Gary Varvel for January 25, 2021

Trump Disciple Varvel’s idea of master chefs are TraitorTrump, Cruz, Hawley, Moscow Mitch, Gaetz, TraitorFlynn, Pence, Qanon, Proud Boys, and all White Supremacists.

Their desired creations are insurrection, tax breaks for billionaires, ever increasing wealth inequality in order to achieve Russian style oligarchy.

Their ingredients are voter and vote suppression, gerrymandering, a total absence of honor and integrity, and above all, constant and continuous LYING, as illustrated by the cartoon above.

Trump already ensured there will have to be higher taxes with his incredible deficit growth. Can’t blame that on Democrats. I know Republicans have this hangup about taxes, so that’s just how it is. I grumbled at times about high tax bills, but mostly had no problem paying them. Unlike folks like Varvel, I understood them as a part of the implied social contract I had with my country.

We’ve done nothing but CUT the top tax rate for almost 40 years. It’s gotten us NOTHING by skyrocketing deficits, low wages, and an end of our position of leadership in the world. The top tax rate is LOWER than it’s ever been. What has been gained by doing that?

And what do you call leaving HUNDREDS of judgeships vacant until a Republican President could fill them if NOT “stacking the court”?

And if you think Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are COMMUNISTS, you belong in an asylum.

As much as conservatives like to pretend the otherwise, these are the folks (or their party at least) that we call on to fix the mess our conservative friends have left us with their bungled administrations and bellicose foreign misadventures. Democrats in general are reasonable and competent. Would that America keep that in mind for the future.

Where have you been the last four years Gary? The tRumplicans came as close as anyone would want to see to bringing down this democracy. As far as your cartoon is concerned, yes we’re going to need new taxes on those earning $400k plus and corporations that pay nothing to offset the $1.2 TRILLION gift to the same group, and yes we need to address climate change, and yes there needs to be a hard look at what government’s roll is in things like healthcare, and as far as court packing is concerned, I’d say Mitch and the boys did a pretty good job at that. In case anyone cares, I was a Republican for fifty years, no more.

To you, they are the worst cooks, but to me, they have 3 Michelin stars. Love your presentation of the Green New Deal. The green fog is priceless. It shows just how little you understand about it!! Only the fact that the idea is Democratic, helps people and the environment(the space we live in) is why you hate it. That’s OK, stupid is always easy to identify.

Good grief!! Again with the Socialist/Communist thing, Gary? Know any Socialists do you? None of this mob seems particularly Socialist to me and I’ve been one ever since I understood Socialism. Even Sanders calls himself a ‘Democratic Socialist’ and that’s slightly left of Fabianism. Another thing…the little box of ‘Stack the Court’? Is that a new product, or one stolen from the worst crooks in America? Higher taxes pay for better infrastructure and services (or they should, but it seems they pay for increased military spending in your country), or could it be your worried that your wealthy patrons may have to pay their fair share? There will be no Green New Deal as, like most governments, this crew will have to govern to the centre. The only extremist points I see in the US are from Republicans and their sympathisers like you.

Alphadog I can see what kind of fear would induce the rage that the crowd on January 6 felt. WHY? Your fear is unrealistic to the point of being delusional and bordering on psychotic. Look around you at reality and try to see something that would induce these feelings in you. Not there is it? So, what have you been listening to that would create the illusions in your mind that you are expressing. I would highly recommend that you stop listening to it while you still can reach through the fog, grasp reality, and pull yourself out— if it’s not already too late.

Who is stacking the courts? Was it the groups that blocked filling a Supreme Court seat for 8 months before an election? Or the one that blocked and stalled 72% of Federal District and Circuit appointments for 2 years so there were still 105 open seats at the end of an 8 year presidency? Oh right those are the same people.
