I know I posted this last year, but we have new Orbsters with us now to share it with! A couple years ago I came across this song- Let the Good Guys Win (I like the Toot Sweet version). It seems to me it’s better than Auld Lang Syne. It has resolutions for yourself and good wishes for everyone around you, and it’s just a very hopeful and optimistic way to start the New Year. Happy New Year here’s to a better 2021

I was going to open and put up my BCN calendar at the stroke of midnight, but Raven is comfortable (and quite heavy) on my feet, so I guess I’ll stay where I am and watch more Mythbusters (my usual New Year’s Eve source of “fireworks”) until he moves.

Diesel, of course, is hiding under the sink from the scary noises outside.

Happy New Year to all. I have put up my new BCN calendar. I don’t know what 2021 has in store for me, but I know looking at my calendar will at least brighten the day a bit. If I can keep the Woman’s resolutions that will help too.

When we were children… the adults asked us what we wanted to be. Most of my peers had answers like – doctor, lawyer, police. I answered – alive. Now that I am an adult… and an older adult. Best ‘resolution’ I can think of is – keep breathing.

So that is what I can wish for all of us – Alive and Keep Breathing!

Outside: Ice storm in progress. Everything look like it was dipped in glass and it is reflecting the street lamp. The world has a clean, delicate and peaceful look right now.

Inside: First cup of coffee in hand, FTU on my lap and another prowling the keyboard. We have absolutely nowhere we have to be.

And there is nowhere I would rather be at this moment than here wishing each and every one of you a Happy, Safe, and Healthy New Year. And especially to Georgia and her family for creating this community with her art, imagination and wit.

I avoid most comment pages on the comics. They’re comics, but they still get really vicious sometimes. I came to BCN and thought to myself, ‘this is a safe place’. And as I read the comments today, there is no disappointment. People here are really supportive. Hope everyone has a wonderful new year and keep on keeping on.

Happy New Year to all! The past year brought many blessings, despite all the numerous challenges and hardships. I am grateful that my relationship with my Dad has been healed. Who knew all it would take would be a pandemic! ;)

Every now and then I know it’s kind of hard to tell – but I’m still alive and well.(thank you mr. winter)

I’m making the same resolutions today: Be grateful. Stay hopeful. Hard to keep for a whole year, but even trying may bring benefits.

Just noticed=Goldie has an ear notch. My wife takes dumpster cats to get neutered and they get ears notched.

I have just finished reading all the replies to my “Last Today is” comment of yesterday. I am touched, and grateful that so many have enjoyed those comments. But I was really just “giving back” for this wonderful comic, and all the delightful comments that you all post. Georgia Dunn is a very special and rare person, and her influence has created a very special and rare community, here.

I don’t make New Year resolutions, not any more. Last time I made a New Year resolution, I was in my teens. And that resolution was the easiest on the keep. Don’t make any New Year resolutions ever again. Saves me a lot of time thinking about what resolutions to make that I’ll only keep for a small handful of weeks. And I don’t feel bad about failing to keep them either.

I don’t understand why people think 2020 was so bad. What did we really give up? Are we so spoiled that giving up going out for a meal is the worst thing in decades? We are so blessed in this country, and apparently spoiled. I am grateful to have my life, and to have the rest of my family. We lost my Father but not due to THE virus. The vaccine is becoming available and most people exhibited a selfless concern for their fellow man so far. Be careful out there until you can receive the vaccine. Thanks for 2020, a learning experience that we will never forget, and here’s looking forward to 2021.
