But we ALREADY have exploding costs and rationing through being uninsured, and that doesn’t just kill grandma.
I’d just like to know why, since the US has by far the most expensive health care system, it is so far from the top of every ranking that I’ve ever seen for quality results.

Richard, don’t confuse the poor Repubs with reality. They apparently can only deal with their own fantasy/delusion, poor fellows.
Health insurers have managed to keep 50 cents of every dollar we’ve paid them for insurance. They can do this without one penney spent on improving our health care.
I pray for the day when making a profit on providing basic health care will be declared immoral!
Actually Kennedy dying could help the democrats.. He was chronically ill and if he is replaced then they have a vote that might have been absent otherwise..
That and there is a certain commemorative stance where people will push for it in his name.. Health care reform needs done.. Its what really needs done versus what a handful want that is the key question..
Unfortunately, WestTex13, Massachusetts won’t have a replacement Senator until a special election can be held (no earlier than January, I believe). Kennedy asked the MA legislature to consider instituting a gubernatorial appointment, but that won’t go anywhere. Nor should it, especially given that the current rules were put in place to get around the possibility of Mitt Romney selecting a replacement should Kerry have won the 2004 presidential election.
All that said, I think Kennedy’s death will not help this process at all.
If you look at the bill, you’ll see that they’ll go to the left. What they do not realize is that the left path will eventually lead to the one on the right.
They promise you the world now..and when it comes time to deliver they will realize too late how much it costs. They will also realize the same thing that they’re already being warned about with Social Security and Medicare : we can’t possibly borrow enough money to keep those programs running and meet their obligations…so to keep it from collapse they will cut and cut some more.

health care in the usa is similar to the ‘wild wild west’ … not organized or systematic at all

Considering that Kennedy has supported health care for all Americans for roughly the past 40 years, that would indeed be an appropriate honor.

and the best argument of all ….
healthcare is so messed up it would be criminal to let millions of more people have access to it

Fair insight Tpenna, I thought there was a clause for appointment in special cases like this, but apparently I was wrong..

Iran has universal health care in the their constitution. There’s a reason why these people are not afraid of getting blown up…
