And the Woman’s reaction to Tommy yowling is pretty much the one I had!

I don’t know if the owl is back, but the yowl sure is.

Such a pretty blue out the window in panel 3! (I know I mention blues often. I like things that are blue.) At least we know it’s not snowing…that would be too traumatic for poor Beatrix!

The song “I need a hero” by Bonnie Raitt just started going in my head. Yes, Puck, I agree. Please.

Man and woman are warming up. Really, what does it take to look out the window? You tell em, Elvis!

Maybe it’s time to ask for assistance from St. Francis, the patron saint of animals, and St. Anthony, the patron saint of lost things.

Elvis, stop panicking. Sit down in front of The Woman. Make sure her attention is on your eyes. Then project the information about Beatrix straight into her feeble human brain.

Panel 4 left me with tears in my eyes.

I think something has to happen soon, maybe Elvis gets out of the house again like when he found the flyer that got Tommy rescued or perhaps someone like The Man hears Beatrix if he goes outside to investigate the return of the owl!.

OMC! I can legit feel Pucky’s anxiety! I hate when Pucky looks sad/scared/anxious. It makes me want to reach through the screen and rub his little ears and tell him everything will be okay.

People – have you ever had your cats look at you like you’re idiots? Well, here’s why.

Meanwhile – Trevor continues to bark, Baba throws her paws up in disgust, and a cat-child still awaits rescue …

The first frame is so good that I’m just itching to assist the Woman. Elvis is too big to be securely held in one arm; I fear she is about to get scratched or kicked with those little hind feet. And the cleverness of Elvis’s speech bubble’s words going behind the picture clearly conveys that his hollering is in the (literal) background while the Woman tries to talk to humans.

I am sad-please find Beatrix, now!

What is it? What? WHAT’S going to happen? [runs around, looking out all the windows…] [grabs paper bag and breathes into it] I. can’t. stand. it.

You know, this is a pretty small town if all the town’s folk are calling each other up just to talk about how each other’s pets are flipping out. :P

One of my cats (the one pictured next to my post) ran up a redwood tree and got thirty feet off the ground before noticing he could not see the ground from the lowest branch, because it was hidden by bushes. I was walking away with the other cat when I heard him meowing (something he rarely did). Fortunately, I was able to find a cut sapling about 15-feet long. I braced it against the other side of the tree. I was able to talk him around to that side, where he immediately grasped the idea and ran down the sapling. He was a smart fully adult cat; usually kittens are the ones who get stuck.

National Linguine Day —It has been said that the Chinese make one shape of noodle out of anything, and the Italians make hundreds of shapes out of one thing. This is one of the latter, and means “little tongue.” Think of that next time you eat linguine …

National Double Cheeseburger Day —I can haz cheezeborger? The largest hamburger ever made was over 8,000 pounds, cooked for a burger festival in Wisconsin—I assume with cheese. Side note: in 1981, the USDA announced that ketchup could be counted as a vegetable in the school lunch program. And we wonder why we have a problem with childhood obesity.

That’s enough (and a great plenty). I must go and stifle a dormouse.

I’m confused by Elbiff’s shrieky comment. What would the humans see if they looked out the window? All the cats are locked inside, and Bea is somewhat far away, is she not?

Poor Pleading Pucky’s “Please?” Heartbreaking. :-(

The suspense is killing me!

The humans – at least some of them – are aware that Beatrix is missing. I find it remarkable that not one of them is making the connection.

Our daughter loved to pretend to be a cat. “Witless human” was one of her favorite sayings.

They could use a miracle right now.

O.T. The good news is: My Baba Mouse Peeptoad mug arrived today and I can’t wait to drink my chamomile tea out of it tonight!! The bad news is: I saw a solid black wooly worm today and that does not bode well for the coming winter…
