I foresee the holiday from hell. The man in the hat is soooooo creepy. Remember to lock your doors and windows.

He’s just surprised and upset because he, like Elly, was expecting something better. He’s human. He’ll deal with it. It’ll bring the family closer together…

We always see Ellie doing the yelling, we should let John vent some steam today. He usually sets by quietly.

From http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/roomette?show=0&t=1311689343: Definition of ROOMETTE : a small private single room on a railroad sleeping car.To me, the points are that people who encounter unexpected glitches at the beginning of a long-anticipated trip aren’t likely to be at their best, and that people who offer to micromanage them into behaving “correctly” should get a life.

Why doesn’t John (a dentist), offer to do some dental work for the conductor in exchange for a room upgrade? Looks like the guy could use some orthodontal work, as a minimum.

I’m no train expert, but it looks to me that the parents thought they were getting two rooms, each with two single beds. The roomettes come with just one single bed each.

gmartin977 He doesn’t get a room to himself. If I recall, he ends up sharing with Lizzie, who keeps him awake at night snoring!! And how with this holiday compare to the ill fated cottage holiday that John arranged a while back?
