Is this the result of the Reagan victory over the air traffic controllers?

Sure, we all know that union workers never slept on the job. Sure, right. Wink, wink.

Let’s be honest. There is still an Air Traffic Controllers Union. Reagan fired them because they went on strike (how disregarding of air safety was that?), not because they were union members. So why hasn’t the union taken steps to discipline its own members?

“Oh, I’m sorry. Did my crashing this jumbo jet into your tower wake you up?”

^^^Billdog: I’m surprised that you’re not blaming Bush for this.

is this issue of night shift workers falling asleep a new thing? geez, it wreaks havoc on a person’s circadian rhythm, the immune system, increasing susceptability to cancer….. I know, my sister - a night shift worker in a candy factory has had cancer TWICE in the last 11 years!

2 a.m. was a classic time for mortar attacks, or attacks in war, because that’s when people are least alert, and more likely to be asleep in COMBAT ZONES- the same applies to towers, and two on staff should be the minimum for “commercial” operations. Cut backs have compromised safety in what now turns out to be MANY incidents around the country.

Now, as to the PILOT of the A-380 not paying attention to his wing length and nailing the “commuter” aircraft- oops! Parking lots are dangerous places!
