Successful composting with kitchen scraps requires lots of “brown” materials, such as dry leaves. Or paper. His homework could have worked. Hopefully, after it’s been turned in and graded.

It does smell but it makes great mulch! Don’t think the janitor will echo our love of mulch tho…
