Club Chowder Head! Don’t you love it! I don’t think that Susie would like to be yelled at for insubordination either. Don’t know how long she would last in Calvin’s club, even if she were invited.

At least it doesn’t need a letter of the acronym to be the last letter, like G.R.O.S.S.

…and wear a caddis for an emblem of membership in their cadre! Hobbes could be a Knight of the Garter.

I, as a charter member of O.L.D. F.A.R.T. have never used the archaic term CAD. How old is Hobbes?

I wonder which club will get to keep the crate in the tree. These nasty breakups always lead to major problems over property rights.

It’s disturbing to realize that even the best club in the cosmos can be destroyed over internal divisions.

I think Calvin is being a little conservative with his liberalism. Hobbes should be able to break the rules whenever he wants. Calvin would do it himself :o)

G.R.O.S.S. having it’s final letter in the acronym be the last letter of the last word is right in line with the rest of Calvin’s existence. He makes his own rules, he invents his own reality, and he certainly doesn’t want to be told otherwise.

The only part of him that ever takes note of the “proper” social mores is his subconcious, which manifests itself through Hobbes.

Even Spanky and Alfalfa made up their own rules and broke them as they saw fit, allowing Darla to become Queen of the He-Man Woman Haters Club after she lost a local beauty pagent…. and the H-M.W.H.C. is obviously the inspiration for G.R.O.S.S.

Hobbes (The Poster), I find it even more disturbing that “the best club in the cosmos” AND its major sect are defined by what they’re against rather than what they’re for.

Hey, that sounds like a lot of real political and religious movements…

Lotta rock bands went down this road, so no more singing in the trees for C&H. It would be interesting to see Suzie’s thoughts on what it looks like from the ground as these two get into it….

Hello Hobbes, I always go back and read yesterday’s comments after I read today’s strip. It is 07:46 here in South Africa on 29th April. I love reading all the comments on this strip, although the ugly, spiteful ones lower the tone. There are more comments on this strip than any other that I read.

Nice to see Hobbes is back, and even nicer to read his words that he will only be an ‘occasional poster’.

It’s disturbing to read comments on humility from someone who hasn’t the foggiest idea of what it means. –noun the quality or condition of being humble; modest opinion or estimate of one’s own importance, rank, etc.

Feeling that a sudden departure would stimulate a lot of discussion shows that he has an inflated sense of importance. Some of us happen to have a different opinion of what he posts, and it’s not surprising to see so many lemmings follow their leader, or mice follow their piper.

If you really want to ‘rise above’ the rest of us who don’t appreciate self-serving, egotistical and arrogant comments, show it by allowing us to also have an opinion, unless you need to check with your impostor leader first.

Wiseguy411…. the name says it all. Just another overinflated assessment of ones abilities.

When one has to tout their wisdom, by placing it as their moniker, is shows a sense of insecurity or uncertain confidence in their claim. When followed by 411 it appears to display this person feels they are the source of true information, rather than just another opinion.. And we all know what is said about opinions…
