That is something that we are not supposed to think about.

This point should have been used by our government after 9/11. That could have really changed the whole world for the better.

Wind is even now cheaper than fossil fuels. It’s time we build wind farms everywhere with American made machinery and American union labor!

We all know how cheap wind is. If it …naw, too obvious.

Ocean current turbines are in use today as an altenative power source. Not sure of cost or output but it is an alternative.

I say drill in US now, putting people back to work. Continue to develop and refine alternative sources of energy. We are not helping ourselves to not drilling. Like starving to death at a buffet table.

Economic recovery would be more viable if those who put us in this mess were on their way to Devil’s Island. They are the same ones touting world “crisis” and shortages that don’t actually exist, yet. The REAL shortage is listening to those who made money by selling short, and run the show for us still.

Food prices are far more critical than the oil prices we’ve refused to control- all at the “speculator” level.

Can’t have controls that could be imposed only by “big government”. That would cause an elephant stampede.

“This time I’m sure he’s not conveniently upset about how how fast the price got to $4.”

Odd, I went by the gas station today and didn’t see anything close to $4.

Gasoline in Tennessee is between $3.10 & $3.40 a gallon. Plenty of drilling goes on in & around the U.S. already. We need more incentives to implement & to use green-technology: tax breaks for the implementers and higher taxes on Big Oil.

The economy has been improving for almost two years, thanks to President Obama’s feeble stimulus. No one should forget that Obama inherited the worst situation that any president has had since Franklin Roosevelt. Bush-Dick fomented & incompetently ran two wars, turned a budget surplus into a huge debt, lowered taxes on the wealthy, and left office with unemployment rising rapidly (7% on Inauguration Day) and foreclosures rising rapidly.

You guys can drill on every acre of land in the 50 United States and half way across the oceans, but you won’t solve our energy crisis. (You will detract hundreds of billions of dollars in housing values due to unsightly drilling operations and unhealthly air and water due to unregulated emissions, but who cares about that.)

You guys are business whizzes. Do the math. We have 4% of the world’s oil reserves, and we consume 25% of the world’s oil and gas production. If you drill and produce every ounce of that 4%, you’re still 21% behind the demand curve. It’s time to get serious about alternatives.

Proper tire inflation has been good advice for a long time. I hope that you keep the tires properly inflated on your ice-cream truck, Chur.
