The republicans are so scared of him that, now that Sanford has announced his candidacy, they are cancelling the Republican primaries in several states.
Sanford may, in fact, be ‘tilting’ at windmills, but at least he (and Weld) are offering those republicans who can’t stomach Trump an alternative.
And, while we’re on the subject of alternatives, can ANYONE explain why the Democrats are allowing, with the wide field THEY have for 2020, Bernie Sanders, who is not now nor ever BEEN a Democrat, to run for a slot on the Democratic ticket?
Every time he appears with other candidates who were and ARE democrats, it’s like the DNC is playing that children’s game of, “Which one of these DOESN’T belong here?”
It may not be as quixotic as it appears. Il Douche is already in meltdown mode, and the dems are just beginning to gear up their oversight. The hurricane and sharpie episode shows he won’t be able to keep his craziness to himself, and the party will have to decide how long it wants to identify itself with a raving lunatic.
What’s with the party of “family values”? Are their best and brightest really philanderer Mark “Appalachian Trail” Sanford and Donald “Grab ’em by the pussy” Trump?
I wish him all the success in the world. Right up until the Federal election. Then I wish for him a nearly successful attempt at a third party run which siphons off some significant fraction of the folks who vote conservative. PS: I think he’s exactly right about the person he’s opposing.

The winds are changing, but Sanford’s not a strong enough gust. Maybe the Marauding Mormon will take him on. Definitely a lot of hot air there.

The GOP should be renamed the COP — the cowardly old party.
