Years ago when my parents just bought a new house with a white tub, my mom gave my sister a bath. She decided she wanted colored water, and so snuck some red model paint into the tub. The movers were still moving boxes in, and my mom already had to contend with the tub painted red, not to mention my sister too.

I love Calvin and Hobbes. After the last strip was published, regardless how many times I’ve read it, I still find great humor in Calvin in wild and crazy antics with his trusted sidekick, Hobbes.

Looking closely, the original date seems to be 1991. Guess who was supposed to be managing the ‘boom’ for spills cleanup in Valdez? Yup, BP! (Thanks, Greg Palast!)

When we were kids, My brother and I tried to make Kool-aid in the bath tub.

    GRAPE Kool-aid

Well we were really thirsty at the time and wanted to be sure we had enough. Dad laughed a lot more than Calvin’s mom is though.

    Yes, but not as funny.

In this situation, a bath sans Hobbes is highly preferable.

Calvin you created an oils spill. Can’t blame BP though great idea. Hope Calvin doesn’t get a lot of ink on him and clean the tub. I wonder were the idea came from on Calvin? I didn’t think Calvin watched the news. Though Calvin likes disasters.

Actually, Calvin’s tanker would have been the Exxon Valdeze. Aside from that, he should be outside battling snow goons…

That’ll teach her to leave a 6-year-old alone to give himself a bath!

Meanwhile, I’m so glad that this wasn’t Hobbes’ bath night, as well, or he’d be a permanent shade of black (or blue) instead of the pretty shade of orange/black/white that he is!

Interestingly enough, Calvin is on the right track. Our modern day inks are byproducts of our oil industry. If I had done something like that my mother would have seen to it that I would not have able to sit down again for at least a month….Cal, baby - go easy, bud….

HAHA! Calvin sure doesn’t set a very good example for children, and I sure wouldn’t want any children of mine doing that. I will just enjoy it in the comics and just have Calvin’s mom deal with it. What are his parent’s names anyway? Do they have a last name?
