Look up the schedule for when the International Space Station flies over your area. I did it a couple years ago. It said it would come from the West at about 4:17 am. Fortunately we had a clear night. I stood out and watched and at exactly the time and direction it listed, it flew over my house. I watched till it disappeared over the mountains. Really cool. It looked like a fast moving star.
I see satellites all the time — most fly South to North but recently I saw some flying North to South while some were flying South to North — pretty cool stuff happening up there.Keep Looking Up!!!
When I was a kid, the Echo II communications satellite flew over where we were sledding. I don’t remember how I found out what it was (it took a lot of library time; I didn’t know about the sky apps) but it was cool.

It was creepy when it was only Sputnik up there. Now? Our global communications depend on them. How times change!

Wait until every company with two cents puts clouds of micro-sats in orbit.

I remember our local newspaper used to publish the times to view TELSTAR when it came overhead

After SpaceX and Amazon finish launching the 7k+ satellites, it’s gonna be pretty common sighting.

Nope, it’s a sign that we’re becoming a spacefaring civilization.

Just so happens ISS will be visible in the PNW this evening between 1-1:15 am from the West. Hope it’s clear. Iffy up here in the Northwest.
