I was watching a commentary about a TV cartoon that was drawn in Asia somewhere. Changes were not possible many times because you needed a 4 week lead time or more.
Wow, the American Empire is vast, complicated, accidental and self inflicted. Who knew winning two world wars and being the most powerful country in the world would lead to such stupidity is such a short time.
In 1960 an American made 19" Zenith b/w tv cost $259 ($2,200 2019 $), a wall clock was $28 ($235) average manufacturing wage was $2.26 ($19) so a worker needed to work 12 hours to buy that clock, 100+ hours to buy a 19" tv.
Ross Perot nailed it decades ago..“Hear that giant sucking sound? That’s the sound of jobs leaving the country” quote might not be exact, but that was the gist.
The story I heard was that Gary moved to Guatemala, hoping that the lower wages there would result in higher profits, but since he does all the work himself, he just wound up getting paid less.

The Simpsons has been drawn in several different nations, as seen on the credits running after the show.

They should contract it out to N.K. Then it would still be in a foreign country. ;-)
