    I don’t know who would be a better vampire, but I do like Rick’s taste in reading material. (I’m also disappointed by how many commentors are admittedly ignorant of Thompson and Adams. When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro, but time is irrelevant, lunchtime doubly so.)

    It would be very improbable for Douglas Adams to be a vampire.

    Authors as protagonists are done a lot. H.G. Wells and H.P. Lovecraft have had numerous adventures, for example, and Philip José Farmer kept using authors as his protagonists.

    It depends on how you define “better”. Thompson would fit a vampire profile quite nicely, but Adams would make it much more fun.
