John’s not exactly “Mr. Subtle.” Given the fact that he seems to spend a lot of time walking around with his foot in his mouth where his wife is concerned … if he truly doesn’t like it, then there’s probably no way he can be completely honest regarding his feelings without making Elly feel totally stupid for liking that carving so much that she just had to buy it.
