    Indeed.

Kind of reminds me of the other instant classic: “I see no reason not to vote for a criminal douche-bag con man for president.”

I see lots of posts suggesting that better education would have prevented folks from voting for a 3rd rate con artist. Maybe, maybe not. The same “maybe” applies to anti-vaxxers. The education they need isn’t something they’re likely to want for themselves or their children: How to spot fakery by using logic and facts.

I am REQUIRED to give my dogs rabies shots despite the fact they can never leave our high block fenced yard. Yet, here in AZ, idiots can let their spawn run around schools and Walmarts spreading god knows what because of their religious or PERSONAL beliefs. I doubt if that would work for my dogs.

I recently lost a friend to complications of pneumonia, a disease he could’ve prevented had he gotten a pneumonia vaccine. Vaccines are good and prevent much heartache.

Well, more and more schools are refusing entrance to children who haven’t been vaccinated.

If the requirement that you home-school your child if they aren’t vaccinated isn’t enough reason for the anti-vaxer parents, then they can devote the next 12 years of their life to educating their children.

Maybe they’re afraid that blanket vaccinations will damage their willful ignorance?

We are going to see the results of anti-vaxxers becoming Darwin Award recipients. Congratulations anti-vaxxer parents for putting your children and your friends children under a Damocles sword of unregulated disease. Hope your children and their friends appreciate how you have protected them from life and given them the opportunity to Die Young. S /

What about the children who don’t die but are permanently damaged as a result of the diseases? For example, the parents of a colleague of mine were both born deaf because their mothers contracted measles during their pregnancies.

And the anti-vacine folks also seem to be a large part of “pro-lifers”; defend em in the womb, then kill ‘em after they come out, disease, war, etc. (btw; historically in wars, diseases have killed more than weapons!)

There is no need to force anyone to get their kids vaccinated. It is their right to avoid such things.

At the same time, it is our right to prevent all social intercourse with un-vaccinated persons.

Ban them from all public places. Completely. Everything from public buildings, parks, etc to private buildings other than single family residences and designated apartment complexes. No grocery stores, no movies, no department stores, etc.

It is not fair to the rest of us to be exposed to these people or their children. Transmission of fatal and/or life changing diseases is far too easy. Contact with infected persons can result in the virus being carried home and transmitted to small children too young to have been vaccinated already.

Too extreme? Really? Are you willing to risk permanent damage or even death for your children because of some ignorant clod’s demand to honor his “right” to be a disease vector?

The simple solution is to require all persons to be vaccinated with absolutely ZERO exceptions. Not even for Christian Science followers. Anyone who refuses should be “expelled” from society.

Robert, I’ve really been missing seeing your animated editorials lately. I hope all is well with you and your loved ones. Heaven only knows there is certainly enough to lampoon in this government. Be well. Helen Foley
