How much tuna can you buy for 25 cents?

Calvin just barely comes clean, bath or not.

Two questions: 1) how did Calvin not topple down the vacuum in which he was hiding? 2) On what will Hobbes spend Calvin’s twenty-five cents?

A good bid in both cases. Sadly, the boy is doomed to failure by unanticipated consequences.

Oh, but Cal? You don’t deserve your quarter back. YOU gave the game away, not Hobbes.

Strange. I always liked bubble bath.

I remember that I gave a copy of this strip to my nephew to read. My sister (his mother) read it as well. She pointed to the panel of Calvin hiding in the vacuum cleaner and told my nephew “Don’t try it!”

And how mom didn’t notice Hobbes isn’t soaking wet.

The debates here remind how much fun other people can be. You guys are great!

I couldn’t get my daughter into the tub. Then I couldn’t get her out of it. You would think, just once, she would remember that she had fun in there and go willingly. But noooooooooooooooooooooo.

Kids sure are stupid when it comes to the future. Did Calvin plan to hide in the vacuum forever, or did he think his mom wouldn’t make him bathe once he got out? Or was he hoping to be more in the mood to bathe later?

Don’t know why you hate baths so much, Calvin. You my mom had a hard time getting me OUT of the tub!

I’m so glad I live in a world were Hobbe’s effect on “reality” is only limited by Calvin’s “IMAGINATION”

If this was kept up, wouldn’t Calvin stink to high hell? I guess that was the giveaway when Mom kissed him and remarked he was filthy.

One of many examples of when the throwaway joke in the second panel in a Sunday strip is funnier than the rest of the strip.
