When Obama was president, the Unites States was respected around the world.

With (illegitimate, unelected, Russian-appointed) Trump usurping the WHITE House, our former allies now repudiate our vulgarity-in-chief and our long-time hostile foreign adversaries (Russia, North Korea, China) embrace us while playing our “president” for the naïve, uninformed moron that he is.

Take the place of the others. Somewhere in the world, there is a pseudo-democracy, which brutally wants to impose itself on the rest of the world, because somewhere they have got the idea that they are better than the rest. At the same time, they are simply abandoning the ideology that has made them great. In addition, it is guided by an incompetent orange howler monkey with an extremely cruel approach. But hey, you are still welcome in Thailand. If I think I am exaggerating, ask yourself what you think about other countries. But, something like “Tuck Frump” can certainly help as well.

My wife and I are going to Ireland to visit our relatives. We’re wearing T-shirts that say “We did not vote for Trump.”

My brother-in-law owns a pub where I’ve already got to know some of the regulars. I know that one of them will ask, “So what do you think of Trump.” My response will be, “Give me a break. I’m 69 years old. I can’t live long enough to tell you all the things wrong with him.”

I wonder whether those — cartoonists and others — who claim disdain or disrespect from Europeans have traveled there recently. My own experience is that almost all Europeans assume — unless explicitly told otherwise — that any American willing to travel outside the US is not a Trump supporter.

And that makes sense. Aside from the rich ones, it seems that Trump supporters are rarely even willing to experience “foreign” cultures.

When Trump’s critics say, “Ack! Kool Aid!,” Trump hears, “Accolade!”

Wonder if the Germans are asking themselves how they ended up as unpaid extras in the remake of “Er ist wieder da”.

Trump lost by three million votes. The jerk who messed up the election was Thomas Jefferson. The constitution was written to give equal voting rights to all rich white men. That eliminates anyone Black or female, so the constitution never came close to giving us a democracy. But, that wasn’t enough to be sure that the land owning white guys were actually in charge. It was possible that the lower classes could choose one of their own to be president. To prevent that problem, the electoral college was developed to keep out the riff-raff. The result has been that have spent 8 of the last 16 years with a president that wasn’t elected by the people, but appointed by the power structure in DC.

There’s two problems extant with Mr. Stahler’s cartoon that need to be addressed.

The first is that what’s left of the Voter base that managed to elect Donald John Trump, other than Russians and Russian sympathizers truly believes that a trip over to the next county to buy their alcohol so their neighbors and ministers won’t know they’re doing it constitutes a “big trip”! They will NEVER hear or experience just exactly what Donnie’s 11% approval rating Great Britain REALLY means, because, in their little “bubble” of a universe, Donnie is wonderful and well-loved WHEREVER he goes! They will never personally be exposed what the results REALLY are in the E.U. to Donnie’s pathetic lies about how Russia is REALLY controlling Germany, not the U.S., and how Prime Minister May is destroying BREXIT, not Boris! They believe ALL OF THAT because they refuse to fact-check ANYTHING the Idiot-in-Chief spews from his diseased mind!

The second problem with the cartoon is that I have a really hard time believing that ANYONE with enough money to travel, internationally, would not at least have a clue as to How Americans would be received in ANY country in Europe! A lot of Europeans take Donnie’s “slams” against their countries, their governments and their culture personally!

Europe is the latest issue but Canada is another.

I can’t verify the numbers but a couple of Canadian papers have reported that cross-border visits to the US by Canadians are way down.

A survey of Canadians found that 7 out of 10 were seriously considering either boycotting American-made products or canceling travel in the US or both.

I recently contacted a friend about the 50th anniversary celebration of an international student co-op organization we were both part of in the 1970s. It is in Ann Arbor, MI. His response was sounds great but I am not traveling to the US for the foreseeable future.

I feel sorry for Americans who will be directly affected by tariffs and boycotts, but this is Trump reaping what he has sown.
