This reminds me of Uncle Ray’s science-for-kids column in the newspaper when I was a kid.

Or since motion is relative, one could argue that Earth is standing still while the entire universe moves in convoluted gyrations around us. That would explain the lack of progress.

So we are going nowhere fast.

Maybe Aristotle was right - the earth isn’t moving, everything else is!

Corkscrew? If this is true, certainly explains a lot…

And let’s hope that there’s intelligent life somewhere out in space, for there’s bugger-all down here on Earth.
