Funny, I’ve heard that rich people of the Trump variety often DON’T pay. Isn’t he infamous for exactly that? When he said he keeps his promises at the end of his Iran speech, a thousand contractors in NY and NJ almost died laughing.
I’m probably going to regret saying this, but I think the press got this Rudy G. interview matter all wrong. Since Dump denied knowing anything about the 130K payment to Stormy D, and we all know how Dump lies as a matter of course, he must have been lying here, too.
The “that’s what rich people do” comment is somewhat true. Many rich people are inundated with frivolous lawsuits and so they retain attorneys to take care of them. I’m sure would I to get a 50M dollar winning, I’d retain an attorney, too.
Rudy said that Dump paid his lawyer about $30K monthly. For me, and most of us, this amount would be very, very high, but for one who has a $3B net worth, this monthly retainer would only amount to 1/100,000th of Dump’s worth, pocket change as Dump would put it.
So Dump may not have known about the payment to Stormy D. It was taken care of by his attorney.
I know this makes me look like a Dumphead but, rest assured, I still think he needs to be impeached for many violations of law starting with the emoluments clause which he violates every time he charges the gov for use of his property for meetings with other heads of state. And then there’s that little matter of releasing state secrets to the Russians and so forth.
Yeah, he’s a real bad guy, but not for using an attorney.
There are credible reports that Trump is worth about $200 million, which is what his racist (convicted) daddy left to him. He never worked hard a day in his life. There were leaks from the White House early in his presidency that he was very unhappy about the physical and time demands involved with being the president. As far as being a successful businessman, give me a break. His casino went bankrupt. How do you go bankrupt running a gambling enterprise? People line up to hand you their money. I’ve been to his casino. It was a dump even before it went bankrupt.
It is coming out that the money used to pay Stormy was not paid by Trump but fed to Cohen through the “consulting” contract the Cohen set up with Novartis and AT&T and Korean Aerospace
And now Michael Cohen is saying he was mixed up with another Michael Cohen who was doing less than straightforward deals with the Trump slush funds. Yeah, riiight.
