Repubs can improve on the Prez:

Work & Pay for only 4 days a week until Budget Balanced. Include all Federals and let everyone participate in getting nothing done. Repeal Congressional special exemptions on laws applying to them. Merge congressional/presidential retirement plans with Social Security.

The truth is that there may not have been a federal pay increase this next year, anyway, as inflation is pretty low. I am retired from the military. We’re not getting a cost-of-living adjustment in January for that very reason. (Inflation has to exceed some threshold before there’s a COLA and any COLA is always less than the increase in the CPI.)

The Democraps are always courting Federal employees’ votes by trying to buy them with salary increases, etc., so I’m wondering if the Prez is planning on becoming a one-term president, or if he plans on giving them a big fat pay raise just before the 2012 elections. He did say the pay freeze was for 2 years.

Toles isn’t that far off on this one. The current healthcare plan is eeriely similar to Nixon’s healthcare plan. So in reality the healthcare plan was a Republican idea.

Notice all the attention is drawn away from the vast wealth still going to the richest of the rich - just like any classic con game.

^^ The “mandate” has been brought up by Republicans for years as something they’ve wanted in health care bills, and the whole thing is very similar to Republican Mitt Romney’s healthcare plan in Massachusetts. Yep yeppers.

    So is Cap & Trade.

Buuuuut if Obama likes it, Republicans have to be against it.

I’m I the only one tired of “party politics”? Can’t we have some people in Washington who do things because they are right for the country? Why does one party have to disagree with an idea just because it comes from the opposing party, regardless of the merit of the idea.

Sorry … what am I thinking … I’ll go crawl back under my “utopian” rock.

Interesting that Republicans always suggest eliminating COST of living adjustments for workers and the middle class, and those on Social Security who DID pay into it, but a 4% increase in the PROFITS OF LIVING OFF OTHERS, for the rich, is off the table??

Maybe if the Walton family paid in a few taxes, their poorer “cousins” on the mountain might be able to find a job? Grandpa would be kicking their assets if he were alive.

^ If God loved you, you would have that much money, too.

(You’d think I’m joking but seriously a belief in a “divine right” plays into this. Warren Buffett has quoted it in ire before)

The Democrats are like parents that buy expensive cars, clothes, electronics, etc. by maxing out their credit cards and taking out a home equity loan, and then telling their children that there will not be an increase in their allowance for two years. Oh, that is sooooo fair!

What is being called Obamacare is very similar to the health care plan that was passed in Mass. under Romney so, yes it is a Republican plan.
