My future is free. A former boss loved to use the concept of “freeing an employee’s future up” as in having the freedom to no longer show up for work. Eventually, her future was “freed up” proving that there is justice in the world and allowing for a tremendous outpouring of schadenfreude for her former employees who were retained by the firm.
