People are amazing, they put their whole life out there for all to see then they get mad at the person who let them do it. I don’t see the sense of that. If you want privacy, be PRIVATE!
An acquaintance once told me that he could not find me on facebook or My Space or some other outlet. I told him, “Well, there’s a reason for that. . . .”
Holman Jenkins, Jr. in the Wall Street Journal: “If anybody does not yet understand they are paying for their “free” Facebook , Google, etc. by handing over their private data for use in advertising, please lead such people gently out into the woods and leave them there.”
My problem with people complaining about this is twofold. 1) If your data was used to elect Trump, you had to have been leaning in that direction in the first place. And 2) You had to have been gullible enough to believe the bogus information you were being targeted with.
What surprises — and concerns — me is how many commenters and even cartoonists are complaining about the collection of the data but not about the way it was/is being used.
It’s not being used to blackmail, embarrass, or harass folks. It’s not even being used to steal their identities and empty their bank accounts. It’s being used to mislead folks, to manipulate them into buying things they don’t need and wouldn’t otherwise want… up to and including a President.
Why.. should it be up to the government to regulate privacy.. You use it…. good chance you loose it. Was it not so long ago that the “government” wanted a back door into all those social media appliances so they could snoop.. And.. by all accounts are able to do so at will.
Problem with this diary is that Zucky gave a backdoor key all certain data collectors and then we wonder how these collectors got our supposed safe information?
Why is it ok for the lefty news nerds not to report it when these things happen? It is old news now. With the lefty news nerds,it ain’t what they report so much as what they don’t report. Then the lefty posters try tell us it ain’t true because MSNBC,CNN et al didn’t report it.
We get you, National Socialist Democrat Workers Party.
