Throw in the rigging of Democratic primaries by the party establishment against progressive candidates and if that’s as successful as they hope the fourth panel may well come to pass.

If I may nitpick here, Manchin is a Senator, not a Rep.

The same Nancy Pelosi who said “Impeachment is not an option.” when George W. Bush was breaking laws left and right? What a surprise.

There is no one who wants to see Trump gone more than I do, but impeachment is a very serious step and it should not be taken without a lot of consideration. There is a real danger that we are entering, or have already entered, the kind of tit-for-tat politics that destroyed the Roman Republic. At a minimum, no impeachment unless there is a large group of Republicans who are ready to go along with it. And that will depend on what Mueller concludes.

This is a lot of the problem – Democratic “leadership” is far more interested in sucking up to their Republican colleagues than in doing anything that might please or benefit their base. Then they wonder why people aren’t enthusiastic about voting for them.

Maybe it’s time for a real progressive party to challenge the two neo-liberal parties that led to the acceptability of a president like Trump?

Mike Pense is intelligent, experienced in politics, capable of uniting the Republican party behind him, and therefore quite likely to win in 2020, since he would seem like such an improvement over Trump, who has none of those qualities. The worst thing that could happen to the Democratic party is a Trump impeachment.

Dianne Lee. You forgot to mention also that he is afraid to be alone in a room with a woman who is not his wife. A trait every President should have (except Billy of course).

Talking impeachment when we have yet to FIRST win the Senate and/or Congress back in Nov… Reminds me so much of he arrogance, cockiness and over confidence of some (actually, most) democrats last Nov, it’s scary…

You need a majority in the House to impeach, which Dems don’t have. You need 67 senators to convict for removal. Impeachment won’t happen since the GOP has the majority in both houses, it’s a waste of time and resources as long as the GOP is still on team orange. And they are firmly entrenched in the corruption. Stop blaming dems.

I fully agree that Pence would be worse than Trump, but if I remember the order of progression right that would leave Mitch next in line and that is totally unacceptable. Mitch is partisan enough and savvy enough to really be dangerous to our country.

Democrats: the party that would follow Rick Santorum’s advice—slit its own throat and then perform CPR.

Pretty simple stuff. Something extremist whiners on both right and left seem incapable of understanding.

Impeaching a sitting POTUS is easy. All you need is a majority.

CONVICTING a sitting POTUS requires a supermajority, and when you fail, you look really, really stupid. The Dem leadership has no willingness to repeat the idiocy of the GOP impeachment/trail of Clinton.

Newt Gingrinch had no problems going after a sitting president who was getting serviced by various women in the White House. When the Dems got the majority they decided to work with the decider instead of putting him on trial for all the ill sh*t his administration did. The moral story here is that the cons will do anything to make a president flip to their cause while the Dems will cave in on a criminal all the while they shake their fist. Rall is right. Nothing’s gonna change.

Rall, Rall…..has the Iraq War taught you nothing? The Democrats can’t talk impeachment right now for a very simple reason: Because Mueller hasn’t even provided the bill of goods for bringing impeachable charges against the president. If the Democrats WERE to start talking impeachment now, before the Special Council has even concluded his investigation, how do you think that would go over with the other half of the country? They’ll say we were never interested at all in allowing due process, that we simply wanted to pull off a legislative coup against an elected leader. If you want the impeachment to actually succeed, than our evidence must itself be unimpeachable!
