It is possible the death in Arizona actually has two guilty parties: the driver, who, according to law, is responsible for the proper and safe operation of any vehicle he/she controls. Had he been paying attention, he might have been able to avoid causing a tragic death. Next, the auto maker, who failed to write and test a more discriminatory software program to identify possible obstacles in the road that might require a sudden stop. Appears all the so widely vaunted radar doodads need a lot more work before a car can be called truly autonomous or safe.

Mrs. Olsen has blithely skipped over the actual point of Frazz’s questions since the string began. She is fully aware of what he is asking but will not commit in any way to being at fault. If she doesn’t say it, it can’t be used against her.

I saw the video cam (outside and inside) of the Uber vehicle that hit the woman in question. Why is there a human in the car?? If he’s supposed to overrule the automatic pilot if need be, should he not have to follow to rules of the road like the rest of us. This guy is obviously multi-tasking, spending more time on his phone or tablet as he is looking at the road.

I wonder how her students will tweak her about the accident, particularly you-know-who.
