    It’s interesting how all the iconic tough guys with guns are from the 1980s.

    Flow of consciousness overreaction is being used instead of thoughtful consideration in this administration. We still haven’t found the root cause of the random acts of violence and why we are actively breeding home grown terrorists, it seems. Overreaction will not prevent future incidents. We’re not behaving like a nation with a common cause but rather like several smaller nations ( e.g. Woodward https://tinyurl.com/qyz58of ) that are resentful of the perceived advantages of the other nations, and this attitude continues downward to the resentful individual who perceives those around him as advantaged. The isolation and ultimate suicide with taking as many as possible victims along is repeating and all the overreaction in the world will not stop it.

    This is great – arming teachers could actually work, in the movies. Where all the white guys with guns blow away all the bad guys with accents and dark skin. The GOP might as well make a law to make “bad guys” wear black hats and “good guys” will never hit anyone in cross fire. It will be as effective as any other legislation they have ever come up with.

    @Super and others:

    To a great extent we do know what drives kids to violence. Dr Carroll has testified to Congress twice on this subject. It doesns’t seem to have penetrated the NRA fog there.

    Since Israel started arming teachers, there have been no terrorist attacks on schools like there had been prior to arming. Reality is more important than what the media has brain-washed you to believe.
