I side with the students who survived the mass shooting and are showing the adults how to get something DONE – the right and left bicker while our children are DYING.
Let’s get specific. A ban on assault weapons, such as the one used in this killing and in many others. That’s not taking guns away from hunters, or from people who think that a gun in the house will protect them. It won’t prevent all the killings, but it will do something. I’m sure the courts would allow such a ban. Can anyone explain why this isn’t a good idea?
CHEV.JAMES, banning rapid-fire weapons and conversion kits is not “penalizing” people. Just like gun control does not equate to “gun grabbing”. Funny thing is, Remington recently declared bankruptcy because gun sales went down since Trump got into office.
Am I misreading this? I thought Mueller investigation, not the latest mass slaughter.
The toon perfectly illustrates the insanity of binary selection. You MUST choose either Door Number 1 or Door Number 2. Really? What about when they both suck? I’ll take Door Number 3, thank you.
(Of course, with plurality victories, there is effectively no third choice).
AND, just when you thought that the Gun Worshiping Barrel-suckers COULDN’T get any more disgusting…
There is a Presidents’ Day sale on bump stocks, the device the Las Vegas shooter put on his rifles. Slide Fire Solutions, a bump stocks manufacturer, is offering 10% off with the coupon code MAGA.
That’s a salute to the campaign slogan of President Donald Trump, who promised to “Make America Great Again”, and who has responded to the deadly massacres in the past five months by continuing to oppose any new gun control laws.
“#HeresToFreedom,” the company wrote in a marketing email announcing the sale.
Before the Las Vegas shooting, which left 58 people dead and hundreds injured, bump stocks were an obscure range device popular with firearms enthusiasts.
The accessory makes semi-automatic rifles fire faster, mimicking the rapid fire of fully automatic weapons. Firearms experts say they have no self-defense value, since they make guns very hard to fire accurately.
False choice. We want an FBI & CIA that are bound by bipartisan Congressional oversight, that protects us while observing Constitutional & Human Rights.
Republicans fighting the FBI, this is a win win for lefties.
The shame comes in where the Republicans want to destroy the FBI to save their crooked Trump. If the truth came out, all of the Republican leaders would end up in jail.
FBI can do good work sometimes; and it can be bad (Comey) or downright thuggish. I’ll never forgive them the harassment, the hounding of actress Jean Seberg to a point that ended in suicide after many years of mental trauma. Just one example among many, unfortunately.
I can come up with a whole lotta car/gun parallels. Here’s a new one: What if we banned all cars that are capable of speeds in excess of 90 mph? To what extent would that affect you? Would you feel violated? How often would it be an issue in your life?
There really aren’t that many gun owners, as compared to nongun owners. All of the rest of us are kowtowing to them because they are noisy and they vote. The rest of us have got to change our ways and shame on us if we don’t. It is often this way with the right wing. A minority want to take away reproductive rights for women too. That doesn’t mean we have to let them get their way and impose their will on everyone else. We have got to get out there and vote.
Trump is now telling us to not blame all gun owners for the actions of a few. Also, all muslims are terrorists and we shouldn’t let them enter our country.
What obvious thing to do about school shooting has been overlooked? ! If you took your dogs etc. to a kennel with no locks on the doors, you wouldn’t like to leave them there, Therefore, WHY do we send our children to a facility that can be entered by many ways snd is totally accessible by anyone? To we care more about or dogs that our kids? The easiest and Fastest thing to do would be to Build Tall Strong FENCES around Schools, With 1 Strong LOCK at 1 and Only 1 Entry PORT and have a Scanner to check Book BAGS. SIMPLE,COMMON SENSE!

Hey Chev, what’s your rank in the well-regulated militia unit you train with? Have you made corporal, yet?

If things continue as they are, the government will be happy to pry your gun from your cold dead fingers.

I’m not sure why this doesn’t penetrate: It is NOT POSSIBLE to stop violence or even mass killings by restricting access to certain tools.
What’s going on with those who continue to advocate for that non-solution?
