Having seen the effects of polio on people and the effectiveness of the vaccine, I find it difficult to understand the anti-vaccine proponents. It may have more to do with our deficient math and science skills. As a society, we seem to make the wrong associations between correlation and causation time and time again.

With the underfunding of the CDC and hog tying of their language by Mein t-rump, it doesn’t help with their mission of trying to protect our citizens.

We really need to fund the research to make better vaccines. The flu is bad enough but imagine a virus mutates and becomes something that causes a really high death rate. This flu epidemic demonstrates how limited we would be in trying to fight it off.

And let’s not forget that the flu is very, very dangerous in its most virulent form. The 1918 pandemic killed more people than WWI — estimates here range between 20 and 50 million people.

The Trump appointed head of the CDC quit over a stock scandal, Republicans have cut the CDC budget. Republicans are destroying American institutions.

Understated, graphic, and quietly powerful—thank you for making this point so well.

I`m not going to get vaccinated. I don`t want to catch the autism.

It doesn’t matter, if you live in America you can’t afford either of them anyway. Trump is making America great again by taking away healthcare and spiking interest rates.
