Trump had the bi-partisan deal on his desk that he demanded for a crisis he created and then he BLEW IT UP all by himself !!!! Also Republiclans controls the House, Senate and the White House and they still couldn’t keep the government running? Yeah, Gorrell it’s all the Dems fault. Drink your Kool-Aid.
Them illegals is pretty amazing, all right — they take all them jobs from Americans while simultaneously doing nothing all day while collecting welfare.
.
During the campaign, Trump claimed he ‘works very hard’ to make sure there are no illegals on HIS payroll, no sir. And then them nasty MM reporters went and found illegals on his payroll in about five minutes.
Imagine that.
.
’Course so far, there have been no reports of Trump working hard at much of anything — he has people to do that, I guess.
.
And we in America cannot find a way to make sure that we don’t hire illegals because… IT’S TOO HARD!
Much better to build The Wall that will keep out all them illegals from shithole countries like Haiti.
.
‘Cause, you know, Mexico will pay for it — won’t cost America nuthin’.
Maybe we’d have a better congress if the children of representatives caught doing something illegal/unethical were punished for their parents offenses by deportation or loss of access to healthcare?
Codified laws don’t men spit compared to the ideals, morality, and the will of the majority of Americans.
Bigots, racists, and xenophobes keep coming back to ‘illegal is illegal, no matter what’, and yet the whole purpose of recent negotiations is to change the law so that the dreamers will become technically legal.
Mr. Trump has repeatedly said he is ‘for’ them. 70%+ of polled American citizens are ‘for’ them. The spirit of fair-play is for them. Ryan is for them. McCain is for them… and on and on.
Stop using peoples lives as political pawns. Change the law and welcome these wonderful new Americans - NOW!
The President doesn’t want to boot out the dreamers, what he wants is a comprehensive reform bill of immigration and tightening of border security. Congress and the senate have dicked around for decades without any result. With Trump as president he is attempting to force both parties hands into finally doing the right thing. If the Dreamers can pressure both sides to do their jobs maybe another reform that’s waited decades will get passed.
The problem is coming down to a matter of trust—-or the lack of it.
McConnell (R-Ky.) said he would consider allowing a floor debate on immigration in mid- to late February if leaders do not strike an agreement before then.
“Three moderate Republican U.S. senators on Monday, emerging from a bipartisan meeting aimed at trying to end the government shutdown, said there could enough support if Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell made a firmer commitment to move legislation that would address so-called Dreamer immigrants.”
Ok, time for me to get hated off of goComics. Folks, the Pledge of Allegiance means NOTHING. It’s for children. For men and women who never served. I spent nearly 25 years in uniform, we never said the Pledge ONCE. Soldiers pledge an OATH, to the US Constitution. Not the flag, which is only a symbol and means something different to everyone. You know what the flag means to me? A dead soldier, in a flag draped coffin, that’s what I’m pledging to, when I do say it. And I do say it, but it still has no REAL meaning, other than what I give to it. Unlike the Constitution, which is EVERYTHING. Democrats support the Constitution, before the flag. And the Constitution is for EVERYONE, not just those of us blessed by God to have been born here.
Same old spiel of blaming, blaming, blaming. Oh say can you not see that Americans don’t care a whit about donkeys or elephants, but only a just and straightforward government?
The idea that immigrants who came here before (all of us, one generation or another) would be opposed to those that are coming after, simply because of politically motivated selfishness and technicalities is obscene.
illegal – illscmeagal, we are the United States of America and we will change our codified laws as our ideals dictate. Harboring fugitive slaves was illegal for 75+ years. The illegal argument is just plain stupid.

You can always tell you’ve won the argument when your opponent is forced to mischaracterize your position in order to “win.”

I’ve never heard anyone say a pledge of this kind and no American ever would. Just how much gas do you need to light up a straw man?
