For all the credit we give vacations for rest and relaxation, it seems the better they work, the tougher the re-entry. Although don’t get the impression I’m advocating backing off. I don’t see a tough return to reality as a punishment for a good break, but rather as evidence of it.
I cannot wait to go test that theory again.
On the other hand, I’m not so sure about the inverse. A tough transition INTO a vacation is just the consequence of really not having your act together. I’ve personally tested and proven that theory way too many times.

Our students had a month, almost. Shut down because of smoke and ash from the Thomas fire.
