When did censorship become legal in this country? Is this the beginning of the Rump’s coup? Is the “Night of the Long Knives” far behind? How will we know when it is time to move the Resistance underground? These questions have been appearing on the net a lot more lately and I have to admit to becoming a little more afraid for our country the longer he is in office.
I also have to wonder how closely Homeland Insecurity monitors our posts here. I’m probably already on their list of suspects for expressing my opinions openly and asking for simple truths and honest governance. The Rumps Nazi’s must be all giddy with excitement for the future possibilities.
@NRHAWK “I also have to wonder how closely Homeland Insecurity monitors our posts here.” I have no secrets from the government. It’s just what is in my 74 sq. ft. gun vault in none of their concern. Who’d be afraid of a Socialist with a couple of cap pistols, anyway?
By putting this in place, they will drive out people who care about any of these issues, leaving only profit-motivated careerist drones in their place. No more of that messy “science” for the CDC! Leeches were good enough for our forebears.
GoComics is recommending Henry Payne for me? Sounds like the same recommendation algorithm Netflix uses. “You watched a cartoon? Then you’ll want to watch FAMILY GUY!!”
From April 2007 (nearly two years before Obama took office):The CNA Corporation, a nonprofit research and analysis organization, brought together eleven retired four-star and three-star admirals and generals to provide advice, expertise and perspective on the impact of climate change on national security. CNA writers and researchers compiled the report under the board’s direction and review. The full report will be available on SecurityAndClimate.cna.org.
The Military Advisory Board members come from all branches of the armed services. The board includes a former Army chief of staff, commanders-in-chiefs of U.S. forces in global regions, a former shuttle astronaut and NASA administrator, and experts in planning, logistics, underwater operations and oceanography. One member also served as U.S. ambassador to China.
“Climate change is a national security issue,” retired General. Gordon R. Sullivan, chairman of the Military Advisory Board and former Army chief of staff, said in releasing the report at a Washington news conference. “We found that climate instability will lead to instability in geopolitics and impact American military operations around the world.”
“People are saying they want to be perfectly convinced about climate science projections,” he said. “But speaking as a soldier, we never have 100 percent certainty. If you wait until you have 100 percent certainty, something bad is going to happen on the battlefield.”
Numerous defense related studies and reports prior to 2009 show that the Pentagon took climate change seriously. And climate change is not weather for the truth challenged.
@SFGator: Do you realize how irrational you make yourself out to appear? If you don’t live in Russia, you must certainly be under the influence of the sonic dilemma coming out of Havana. It is quite evident that all your dear leader knows how to do is to screw people over (bankruptcies and other business failures, failure to pay contractors, the farce called Trump U, and others). How do you think such a person (and I use that term very loosely) can run a pedal car, let alone a government?
Anyone see where the “Seven Words you can’t say in Washington” were projected right over the main entrance to Donnie’s Hotel in Washington, D.C.?https://thinkprogress.org/cdc-banned-words-hotel-aba920c8af13/?utm_source=fark&utm_medium=website&utm_content=link&ICID=ref_fark
“It’s absurd and Orwellian, it’s stupid and Orwellian, but they are not saying to not use the words in reports or articles or scientific publications or anything else the CDC does. They’re saying not to use it in your request for money because it will hurt you. It’s not about censoring what CDC can say to the American public. It’s about a budget strategy to get funded.”
It means that science must pander to the superstitions of the republicans, who fear truth and science.

What happens if the CDC ignores that directive? And what if they use alternates? For example:
Fetus; whiffle
Transgender; cedar
Diversity; nautilus
etc.
If nothing else, the alternates could make CDC papers more entertaining.

Weren’t those recommendations meant to avoid the ire of the anti-science, anti-math, anti-logic member of congress when making budget requests?

Trump has outlawed anyone researching or talking about climate change, which means it no longer exists.
