So despite the importance, only 2/3 of the total votes cast in 2016 were cast for this race. And it appears that a lot of Alabama republicans could not bring themselves to vote. Probably of the view that they weren’t going to vote for Roy, but they weren’t going to vote for a democrat.
Not really anything for the democratic party to crow about.
Nobody spent billions in any Alabama senate race, ever.
