This is bigger: “I had to fire General Flynn because he lied to the Vice President and the FBI. He has pled guilty to those lies. It is a shame because his actions during the transition were lawful. There was nothing to hide!” This is word-for-word what he posted on Twitter yesterday at 12:14. That is an admission of guilt for violating Title 18, US Code §4—Misprison of a Felony and possibly Title 18 USC, §3—Accessory After the Fact to Title 18, USC §1001—Making False Statements to Investigators….

Can’t happen soon enough.

Wait until Flynn flips on Kushner and Donnie himself…

Former United States Army Lieutenant General Michael Thomas Flynn has pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI, a felony.

Qualifiers such as “alleged” are no longer required.

He is now a Felon.

A Felon that has disgraced himself;

A Felon that has disgraced the uniform he once wore;

A Felon that has disgraced the country he once fought for…

While this may portend a change in the downward spiral that the GOP appears intent upon…

This is not a cause for joy…

But only sorrow….

We have an authoritarian, anti-democratic government under the Republicans that is rapidly heading for full blown fascism. Here are the warning signs, taken from a poster at the Holocaust museum.

1) Powerful and continuing nationalism.

2) Disdain for human rights.

3) Identification of enemies as a unifying cause.

4) Supremacy of the military.

5) Rampant sexism.

6) Controlled mass media.

7) Obsession with national security.

8) Religion and government intertwined.

9) Corporate power protected.

10) Labor power suppressed.

11) Disdain for intellectuals and the arts.

12) Obsession with crime and punishment.

13) Rampant cronyism and corruption.

14) Fraudulent elections.

If there is anything on that list that the Republicans and Trump haven’t embraced, it’s not obvious to me.

I wish that bomb dropped before this monstrous tax bill could be signed into law. We’ll lose the war after winning every battle because the Republicans have given us a poison pill.
