Might as well have said that. Mnuchin and his wife definitely see all of us as suckers. I hope he goes to prison like other Trump picks will be doing in the next couple of years.

Is there a quicker way to dismantle a democratic republic’s establishment than this administration is using?

I do not understand why people are bent out of shape by this. He runs the place. His signature is on the bills. It is like the head of Ford standing with the first 150 coming off the assembly line. That said, he should leave the bimbo home. Pence should lose the beard.

The “suckers” are not the taxpayers. The societal suckers are the vampiric ideologues who suck all notions of civic responsibility out of the public discourse. They are dangerous people in that they refuse to see the importance of a civil society where common bonds hold us together and aspirational values provide the mortar.

This behavior never ends well for the vampires. They need others in society to fulfill their drive for autonomy. Instead, they conflate the market with civil society, and refuse to see the obvious—that markets need to be regulated to prevent their excesses from damaging the very civil society that enables their power. Talk about an immature ideology! Eventually, there is a rebellion against the “markets-above-all” stupidity. This is part of the trump phenomenon. In their profound ignorance, the trump voters believed he might be able to stem the tide of vampiric market-driven objectivism. Fat chance. In a real turnaround, they protested their treatment at the hands of the raw market by doubling down on the very raw market causing them distress!

Commentators like “jlocke” want their independence, their agency, and are willing to screw everyone else to get it. What is amazing is how blind they are to the consequences of such a selfish, mean, pinched view of others. I read Ayn Rand when I was about 19 years old. I was impressed and persuaded. Then decades of life experiences intervened. I realized how juvenile and impractical the objectivist viewpoint was—not to mention immoral.

I am not a Christian. “Jlocke” professes to be one. What an irony. I profess Christian values, and he wishes to repudiate them. Talk about topsy turvey!!

Experience teaches us that history repeats itself, over and over. If you don’t build it right the first time, it will collapse. Systems that don’t provide for the betterment of all the people, that don’t become humane and forward-looking, that don’t become evolving civilizations end up collapsing from the sheer weight of indifference.

JLOCKE, here is my list to cut to save taxpayer money. Eliminate farm subsidies – most go to corporate farms and they manipulate the market. Corn subsidies allowed US farmers to dump cheap corn in Mexico, bankrupting Mexican farmers. Make HUGE cuts in the military budget. We do not need to build missiles that cost $800K each, we need to stop designing planes that cannot be built without MASSIVE sums of money and stop building tanks that go immediately to storage. The Navy seems to be spending far too much money on technology and not enough on training and adequate personnel. Start with a thorough audit of DoD and the Pentagon. Stop giving money to Israel. They refuse to listen to US and UN directives to stop building in Palestine, and Netanyahu tries to CAUSE problems in the region.

.Here’s one that needs to be put in immediately considering the abuses done by the Tadministration – put a cap on their taxpayer funded travel. Trump has probably passed Obama’s 8 year total already. Price should pay back all of the money his trips costs, not just his part. Mnuchin and his wife are particularly disgusting after his history of abusive foreclosures and her flashing their wealth while claiming they have made sacrifices.
