Call your Congressmen! There is a lot of bad law in the GOP tax bill. They are trying to establish a permanent royal class here through repealing the estate tax. It currently applies only to estates worth in excess of $5.5 million. If that means you, congratulations.
One of the objectives of the Kochs and their ilk is repealing the so-called Johnson Amendment. There is an active movement afoot both within the administration and in the GOP tax bill to do so. Repeal would allow them to make their unlimited political donations tax-free. Yes, you read that right. Poor people struggling to get by, working full time at minimum pay, deserve more than the idle rich, many of whom have never worked a day in all their lives. Now, we want to give the rich more and take away as much as possible from the working poor and the middle class. Shouldn’t we pay people in accordance with how much their work contributes to the country? Why should the fruits of the labor of the working class not be better distributed instead of mostly flowing to the idle rich?
They tried to give the rich tax breaks when they were “fixing” health care. Now they try to take away healthcare while “fixing” taxes. There should be no doubt who these Pussy-grabbing pedophiles are working for. It isn’t the American people.
Not good for Silicon Valley (or any high tech) startup employees either …

If both chambers pass tax bills — which is no certainty — the legislation would be melded together in a so-called conference committee, where the Senate and House proposals would have to face off. There, it’s possible that the tech industry’s fierce lobbying pays off, and it’s eliminated.
That’s why many of the region’s leading voices are mobilizing this week.
“If this [Senate] provision becomes law, startup and growth tech companies will not be able to offer equity compensation to their employees,” predicted venture capitalist Fred Wilson on his well-read blog on Monday. “We will see equity compensation replaced with cash compensation and the ability to share in the wealth creation at your employer will be taken away.”
Bob Reisenweber, the head of the mobile ad startup 4045 Media, said that the Senate bill “baffles me.”
You dimwit proggies realize that 50% of the country currently pays no federal taxes and about 30% of that 50% actually get paid by the government through the EIC. You can’t get a tax cut when you don’t pay any taxes. Your comments just serve to reinforce my thoughts that democrats really are the dimmest bulbs in the light store.
Lisak, it is republicans that are saying middle-class will get tax cuts. Democrats tend to be for additional taxes to pay for both the current operating costs of the country as well as the debt.
@LISAK “50% of the country currently pays no federal taxes”. How many of those are children or disabled or retired? This is how the right uses disinformation. This fact is packaged to make it seem that half the people are lazy lay-abouts. Disingenuous Lisa very disingenuous. The issue is not these 50%. The issue is that working people who are paying taxes will see an increase in their tax bill because of the GOP. The issue is that the GOP is trying to sell the same old trickle-down snake oil again.

CAT, most of those 50% not paying taxes are probably the idle rich (sure, still leeches, but honored by the Republican party).
